Anti-Feminist Radio in the US,
by Frieda Werden, producer WINGS: Women's International News Gathering Service

What radio outlets do anti-feminists have? Here's information I extracted from some of their web sites:

Beverly LaHaye of Concerned Women for America has a 27-minute syndicated radio program on 97 stations across the country 6 days a week. Many of these stations run the show several times a day.

Phyllis Schlaffly of Eagle Forum has 3-minute commentaries syndicated on over 400 radio stations daily, and a live one-hour show on 45 stations and the internet on Saturdays.

Dr. Laura Schlessinger is on radio 3 hours a day five days a week in an undisclosed (but presumably large) number of major and smaller markets.

Rush Limbaugh airs live 3 hours a day on "more than 575" AM radio stations, plus live on the internet.

G. Gordon Liddy airs daily on 173 radio stations

James Dobson's Focus on the Family organization has 18 different regular radio program offerings, in formats from 2 minutes to 2 hours in length, airing on stations in every state [my estimate, based on sampling for several formats: 500 stations].

Howard Stern airs daily on 51 radio stations in 45 markets. His show is 5 hours long. [He has also been cloned by "shock jocks" across America.]

--------------------------DID YOU KNOW?
Rush Limbaugh and Bella Abzug were both hired at the same time to be radio talk show hosts in New York City.  Rush pushed forward; Bella got bumped. (This from Bella herself, conversation in Austin, Texas, 1994.)

-------------------------PLUS:
Here, from the FCC web site are the number of radio broadcasting licenses in the US.  Thousands of stations are licensed to churches. How many stations do feminists own? To the best of my knowledge: none. How many stations air feminist
programming? My estimate:  1%.
